Anyone for gardening

.
The flower ladies daughter was married last week everything was very exciting.  The venue:  the spectacular and very beautiful Tree House in the grounds of The Alnwick Garden in Northumberland.
It is a magical place it even has fairies which can be seen if you believe.
This was the sight that greeted the guests as they walked from their cars a fragrant wheel barrow filled with herbs and a little ivy.

A little contempory style

A little bit of autumn with rich tones of orange and purple.  Gladioli, beech leaves, bronze Chrysanthemum and Dahlia

Contorted Hazel and little willow just added to finish.

Newton Hall

A new venue for Northumberland once again on the coast with access to the beach Newton Hall with its wood floors and stripped wooden tables has an eclectic mix of styles.  There is a gorgeous Orangery used for the ceremony and the wedding breakfast.
A little mix of summer flowers Freesia, Peony, David Austin roses, Lisianthus and Astilbe.
A mix of tin Jugs, cut glass and decorated jam jars, each table is different
The flower ladies have been a little absent of late.  It has been a rather busy summer.  We have been to some fabulous venues throughout Northumberland and met some amazing couples.
The spectacular Kings Hall in Bamburgh Castle on the unspoilt Northumberland coast. A little arrangement!  Avalanche roses, Hydrangea, Astilbe and bleached wood with trails of ivy.

Glorious sunshine for Doxford Hall

The flower ladies had an early start again this morning 5am making button holes and corsages for the wedding party today at the prestigeous Doxford Hall

sister Hotel to the gorgeous Eshott Hall.

The theme pale green and pink.  Our table centres were two fold, bird cages on some of the tables and candelabra on others.

The top table is a mix of our signature small vases our vintage style cut glass this time with a large central vase and finished with a tall bird cage at each end.

The wedding ceremony room decked out with white chair covers and pale green bows.  Bows tied to the side look very sophisticated both down the isle and around a table.  We have added the pale pink Sweet Avalanche and freesia to the ends of the chairs.

Spring wedding at Eshott

The second wedding of the weekend at the gorgeous Eshott Hall.  Tulips were the choice of our bride and groom.  The in season flower for spring.
Simple tall vases containing pink Tulips,of course every time we came into the room the tulips were doing something different (they do have minds of their own but that's why we love them).

Top table was just as simple using our selection of small vases of different heights and sizes all the way olaong the edge of the table.  The central arrangement in two oblong vases using the Tulips, sweet Avalanche and Memory Lane Roses as well as the sweet little pink Wax Flower.

Longhirst Hall

Thursday at Lonhirst Hall table centres on a short raised vase give a little impact to the table without being too tall for the guests to see over the top enableing them to chat to other guests on their table.  Flowers included ivory Freesia, pink double Lisiathus and ivy.  The table centres placed on a mirror polished of course.

A shower bouquet using white Calla Lily, Sweet Avalanche roses, ivory Freesia and pearls.  Sweet avalanche is a large headed rose pale pink with a faded outer green petal.  A bouquet of this style suits an a line skirt or a fuller skirt the bouquet needs to be a compliment to the dress and not overpower it.  We apologise for the side ways view.

TheTreeHouse.

Our table centres in the Tree House at the Alnwick Garden.  The brides mother covered jam jars with string and pieces of ivory and white lace.  The flower ladies filled the jars with pink Astrantia, ivory spray Rose, white Lisianthus and white wax Flower for a garden look. The jars were all different sizes, some tables had groups together some individual depending upon the size of the table.
The stunning Tree House from the car park it is pretty impressive.  At night it is magical.

Just a couple of jars covered with lace.  A little green bells attached to this one.

The flower ladies assistant just testing out the rope bridges!  Its pretty chilly up there.

Spring weddings

Another gorgeous spring wedding at the picturesque Longhirst Hall.  Wild flower looking bouquets of white Daisy, Feverfew, Veronica tails and Rosemary for the bride.  A matching tiny posy with a long grass stem for the little flower girl.

Our tables were decorated with jam jars and tins decorated with seed heads, brown paper and raffia.  Loose daisy heads and mini eggs decorated the table too.
The flowers were transferred to the evening reception where they were placed on mirrors and complimented with candle light.
The guests were then able to take the flowers home at the end of the evening a card on each table invited them to do so.

Bridesmaids posy using Green Bells, Feverfew, white Daisy, pink Phlox and purple Veronica tails. All tied quite informally with white raffia.

Happy New Year to all of our followers. The flower ladies are having a quiet time at the moment time to catch up on all the jobs.

We have been to Eshott Hall today to arrange flowers for the wedding open Day.  There was a bit of glamour using broaches, perfume bottles and candles.  just a little different for a wedding table, each table can be a little different and it is fun collecting all the bits and pieces.

A bowl of fruit for guests to nibble between courses and of course a selection of our cake stands to complete the setting.  Our flowers used blue Delphinium, white Akito Rose, faded vintage Carnation with a little Tanecetum which smells amaising.

We used a little ceramic jug to display some stunning but simple blue Delphinium, little buckets of spray Rose,Stallion Chrysanthemum and blue Delphinium,  We often use the little buckets for favours and individual place settings.

The stunning but simple martini glass on hire from the amazing www.steelcitypromotions.co.uk filled with pearls then gorgeous pink Lisianthus, Wax Flower and Sweet Avalanche Roses.

Our last table at www.eshotthall.co.uk the sleek candelabra with a bit of an autumn theme.  The fab peach Avalanche Rose, Anigozanthus and Hypericum Berry.

There is always the top table decorated with our signature arrangement of small cut glass vases and a long central arrangement.  Blue Agapanthus, Sweet Avalanche Rose, vintage pink Carnation, Lilac and Lisianthus.

New Years Eve 2012

The final wedding of the year 31st December what a great day for a wedding and a New Years eve party in one.  The day was bright but it was blowing a gale.

The brides theme was a different idea for each table we had asewing machine, a typewriter, clocks, china, ruby, crystal and lace.

It looked fantastic just a few of our pictures to share.

The bride carried a bouquet of purple Roses they were real, although dyed but a fantastic colour.  The dress code was formal and all the men wore black tie.
Well here we are in 2013 all the weddings in 2012 done and everyone is happy.  The flower ladies had an exciting year ending with the National Wedding awards and being shortlisted in the wedding flower category.  We did not progress any further but the experience was well worth the effort better luck this year.

Some gorgeous button holes made from Astrantia, wheat stems and a little Lavender.

A very simple mantle piece decoration from the same wedding using shades of hydrangea and mis matched glasses

the brides bouquet very simple but very fragrant just what she ordered.  Dried lavender and Wheat, Astrantia and a little purple accent.
