Wednesday 7 November 2012

Well here we are at the begining of November the flower ladies have been busy all summer. We have visited many fabulous venues and met some amaising couples whom we have arranged wedding flowers for.

The big news though we entered the national Wedding Industry Awards and today we found out that we have been shortlisted for the regional finalist in the florist section.  Now we are really excited the flower lady made a video for the first time and had to load it onto YouTube that was a task not sure if it worked though. The flower lady is not very good with gadgets!

Now we need to keep busy with christmas goodies until the regional winner is announced at the end of November.

Keep watching new photos will be added.

Eshott Hall wedding open day.

The photos just in, the flower lady has had a busy Sunday preparing and setting up the flowers for the tables at the open day.  The table runners and chair sashes from simply bows were simply stunning.  Unusual and different from the usual organza.  I hope we did them justice with the flowers.
The chairs were decorated with a single green Cymbidium Orchid with a lilac hint to the petals and a string of pearls from our vintage collection.

The top table the flower lady decorated with her signature collection of small cut glass vases and two low long glass vases with a collection of Roses, Hyacinth, Carnation and Lissianthus in shades of lilac and pink to compliment the deep lilac and gold table runners placed vertically instead of horizontally for a stunning effect.

A posy of off white Avalanche Roses with Hyacinth pips and contorted Willow contained in a mirror sided cube, set on a linen table runner patterned with pink roses.

The flower lady feeling a bit peckish has used fruit in the arrangement to compliment the gold themed table complete with gold quilted effect runner and gold charger plates.  The famous grand Prix Roses, Empire Apples, Lime and kiwi fruit for a taste of the tropical.  There is aways a good use for a glass cake stand this time to elevate the 3 wick candle.

The duck egg blue accessories lend themselves to pinks, creams and peach.  A bowl of pearls to add a lavish feel, Peach Avalanche Roses, pink Lissianthus, single pink Carnation and unfortunately for the flower lady artificial white Hydrangea never normally used but in this case to get the look it had to be used.  The flower lady much prefers fresh.

The end result complete with the beautiful chandeliers in the ball room.

December weddings

Well here we are at the end of the wedding year we have only had two weddings in December the first was Nichola and Ben at Eshott Hall in Northumberland.  It was a very frosty morning we nearly did not get the van up the hill from the A1 we were slip sliding around but a bit of gravel on the side of the road helped us out.
The chosen colours we red and gold but not christmassy.
We used tall gold candleabras hired from an events company at the base was a large ring of winter foliage, large  Grand Prix roses, hypericum berries in red and green and some contorted willow twigs.
The hall way was set with an enormous real christmas tree, the end chairs had a long stem rose in the centre of each bow and to top if all of we hung a large bunch of Mistletoe in the doorway.
